Sorry for the delay!
Wow. I am sorry that it is been such a long time since I have updated my blog. I finished my first quarter of classes just before Thanksgiving. At first, I didn't think that I would like having such a short 9week classes. I found it was such a blessing to learn from the first quarter classes and start fresh with the next semester. I am learning not to be so anxious, unsure, and nervous about homework and class periods. I'm still struggling to find the right balance of school and life outside of it. I got my grades back, and I did really well which was a huge answer to prayer. This semester is going to be much more academically challenging. I have two 12 page papers and two seven page papers. I'm extremely rustly on writing long research papers...I think that last time was in high school. I am taking 4 in class course: Church History II with a very intimidating professor, Greek 202, Global Christian Theology, and a systematic theology: Christ and Salvation. I'm also taking on-line Hebrew, and so far it's been going okay. For the first time, I'm really enjoying one of my classes. My Christ and Salvation class is great because my professor, Dr. Feenstra, helps us understand the material. He is open to questions and has a very peaceful demeanor.
I am ready for Christmas break, but it's not going to be as long and peaceful as I had hoped. I have classes this whole week including a Greek midterm on Friday and a paper for church history. We are in the middle of our quarter, so I'll have to do a lot of homework during break. I'll be home for a couple of days, and then I'm going to attend the missions conference Urbana in St. Louis. I'm really excited for the conference, and what I'll learn there. Then after the 5 day conference I'll be home for a couple days. Then on the 4th of January, I start classes again, and I have to hand in a 7 page paper on the first day after break. I'm not sure why the professor did that. I'm continuing to make friends, but I'm still trying to find my place at seminary.
